Dead Space voted one of the best video games of 2008!

Dead Space for Xbox 360 is one of the hot new games from 2008. Moving into 2009 it was elected for one of the top video games of 2008 by 3 of the top video game magazines and 2 of the most popular video game websites.

This is a return to the days of Doom when it first came out. I loved the original and it held for years as one of the great first person shooters and spawned two sequels up to the current Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil

With the current first person shooter, you need a strategy guide. Okay, you might not but I have come to find them extremely happy.

Gears of War 2, for the Xbox 360

Well, here it is the sequel to the shoot em up game. Gears of War 2 is one of the years hottest first person shooter games.

It rivals Halo 3 in a war torn adventure against alien creatures that are bound and determined to wipe us out. You tell that alien scum ("Locust") that we aren't going to take it.

The single player and split screen play are awesome. Same characters, just a new day and another set of insane missions to complete or humanities days are over. If you are the first person shooter type then Gears of War 2 is a game that you have to try.

Already a Gears of War 2 fan and want the cool shirts and toys that get you in the blow them all up mood.

Fable 2 for the Xbox 360

The long awaited sequel to Fable holds its own against the legendary predecessor.

The story line is well built and holds up well for the early part of the game. It gives you the desire for revenge and yet you have the choice to follow the path of good or evil. (Parents be aware that there are choices in this game that allow the player to choose same sex marriage. If you do not wish to have to explain this to your children then do not buy this game for your kids.)

The games are fun and can be challenging, and you can learn trades such as woodcutting and blacksmith as well as others.

The story line does lose some of its zest as their is a point were they skip through 10+ years. The landscape changes and you have new challenges, however the game does not take into account the money you might be earning. (Yes, there is no way for them to give it to you and there are arguments both ways.)

The game Mass Effect is a great game for those space cadets that enjoy a romp around the galaxy deciding to do good or evil as you see fit. Your actions decide how your crew and the population of the galaxy.

Xbox 360: Lost Odyssey

This is one of my favorite RPG games. This has all the excitement of RPG with a rich text based story line built into it in a dream sequences that are optional for those that wish to grasp the truly deep character development that was devoted to the characters of the game.
With dozens of side quests that are from the simple and fun for those of us that have children. (Yes, tag and hide and seek.) To the treasure chests that you cant see an yet you know there has to be a reason that a ladder leads down to a ledge with nothing on it.
If you are into RPG's then this is a game you need to check out.

Tales of Vesperia

Just rented Soulcalibur IV for my son, whom is into the fighting style games. He enjoyed the fact that you can play Yoda in the game and other special characters. The storyline appears to be a continuation of the previous games. This appears to be one of the hot fighting games of the summer.
We have enjoyed our GameFly Account. I was nervous at first and only signed up after my son made it clear that he was not going to stop asking me about it. They have a free trial offer. We rented Soulcalibur IV through GameFly and received Soulcalibur the day it came out.
